Mechanics and variants: A simple version takes the last observed value and adds an increment drawn from either a fixed target (for example, a small constant) or the mean of recent positive deltas. A stricter variant ensures non-decreasing forecasts by never reducing the last value. A probabilistic variant attaches a distribution to the increment to capture uncertainty.
