Ultraäänisekoitin

An ultraäänisekoitin, or ultrasonic mixer, is a device that uses high-frequency sound waves to agitate and blend substances. This process, known as sonication, generates cavitation bubbles within the liquid medium. As these bubbles collapse, they create intense localized shear forces, high temperatures, and pressures. These micro-scale effects are highly effective at breaking down agglomerates, dispersing solid particles, emulsifying immiscible liquids, and accelerating chemical reactions.

The applications of ultrasonic mixers are widespread across various industries. In the pharmaceutical sector, they are used for drug formulation, nanoparticle synthesis, and cell lysis for biomolecule extraction. The food industry employs them for creating stable emulsions, improving texture, and homogenizing products. In materials science, ultrasonic mixers are crucial for dispersing nanoparticles in polymers, creating nanocomposites, and preparing suspensions. The frequency of the sound waves can range from 20 kHz to several MHz, with higher frequencies generally leading to smaller cavitation bubbles and finer dispersion.
