Udhagamandalam, commonly known as Ooty, is a hill station in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu, India. It lies in the Nilgiri Hills at an altitude of about 2,240 meters (7,350 feet) above sea level and serves as the district headquarters. The town is set among tea plantations, eucalyptus groves, and misty valleys and forms the hub of a broader hill-resort region.
