UNMI
UNMI stands for the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea. It was established by the United Nations Security Council in September 2000 to provide support for the implementation of the peace agreement between Ethiopia and Eritrea. The mission's mandate included assisting in the verification of the ceasefire, providing technical assistance to the parties in relation to the Ethiopian-Eritrean border, and contributing to the establishment of a temporary security zone. UNMEE's personnel comprised military observers, engineers, medical staff, and civilian support personnel from numerous member states.
