The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) is a regional commission of the United Nations responsible for promoting economic cooperation, sustainable development, and environmental protection in Europe and neighboring regions. Established in 1947, the UNECE operates under the authority of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.
