Tárcsafékrendszer

Tárcsafékrendszer is the Hungarian term for a disc brake system. This is a type of brake system that uses calipers to squeeze brake pads against a rotating brake disc, also known as a rotor, to create friction. This friction slows down the rotation of the wheel, and thus the vehicle. Disc brake systems are widely used in automobiles, motorcycles, and bicycles due to their effectiveness and reliability, especially under demanding conditions like high speeds or wet weather.

The primary components of a tárcsafékrendszer include the brake disc, brake caliper, brake pads, and the hydraulic system that actuates the caliper. The brake disc is a metal disc that is attached to the wheel hub and rotates with the wheel. The brake caliper is mounted over the disc and houses the brake pads. When the brake pedal is pressed, hydraulic fluid is forced into the caliper, pushing the pistons that in turn press the brake pads against the disc. The heat generated by the friction is dissipated into the surrounding air. This system is generally considered superior to drum brakes for most applications due to its better heat dissipation and more consistent performance.
