Typvärdena
Typvärdena, often translated as mode or modal value, is a statistical term referring to the value that appears most frequently in a data set. It is one of the measures of central tendency, alongside the mean (average) and median (middle value). A data set can have one typvärde (unimodal), multiple typvärden (multimodal), or no typvärde if all values occur with the same frequency. Typvärdena is particularly useful for categorical data or when identifying the most common occurrence in a set of numbers. For example, in the data set {2, 3, 3, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6}, the typvärde is 5 because it appears three times, more than any other value. Unlike the mean, the typvärde is not affected by extreme outliers. In some cases, the typvärde might be the most representative value of the data, especially when dealing with distributions that are not symmetrical.
