Tuulikuormasta

Tuulikuormasta is a traditional Estonian weather forecasting practice rooted in local folklore and natural observation. The term "tuulikuormasta" can be translated as "from the wind's burden" or "based on the wind," reflecting its emphasis on interpreting weather patterns through wind behavior and environmental cues.

This method involves observing various natural phenomena, such as the direction and strength of the wind, cloud formations, animal behavior, and other atmospheric indicators. Historically, farmers and rural communities relied on tuulikuormasta to predict upcoming weather conditions essential for agricultural activities and planning daily routines.

In particular, specific wind patterns and cloud types were associated with different weather outcomes. For example, a strong wind from a certain direction might indicate an approaching storm, while particular cloud formations could signal stable weather.
