In computer science, polymorphism is a fundamental principle of object-oriented programming. It allows objects of different classes to be treated as objects of a common superclass. This is typically achieved through method overriding and method overloading. For example, a base class might define a method, and derived classes can provide their own specific implementations of that method. This enables a single interface to be used for a general class of actions, making the code more flexible and easier to maintain.
