Tumorosodási

Tumorosodási is a Hungarian term that translates to tumorigenesis or tumor formation in English. It refers to the complex biological process by which a normal cell transforms into a cancerous cell, leading to the development of a tumor. This process is not a single event but rather a multi-step progression that involves genetic and epigenetic alterations within a cell.

Key factors contributing to tumor formation include mutations in genes that control cell growth and division, DNA repair mechanisms, and cell death. These mutations can be inherited or acquired through environmental exposures like carcinogens or radiation. Over time, accumulated damage can disrupt the delicate balance between cell proliferation and apoptosis (programmed cell death), allowing cells to grow uncontrollably.

Tumorigenesis can be influenced by various cellular and molecular mechanisms. These include the activation of oncogenes, which promote cell growth, and the inactivation of tumor suppressor genes, which normally inhibit cell proliferation. Furthermore, changes in the tumor microenvironment, such as inflammation and altered blood vessel formation (angiogenesis), can also play significant roles in supporting tumor growth and progression.
