Tumormikrokörnyezetben refers to the tumor microenvironment, a complex ecosystem surrounding a tumor. This microenvironment is not just the tumor cells themselves but also includes a variety of non-cancerous cells, molecules, and blood vessels. Key components of the tumor microenvironment include cancer-associated fibroblasts, immune cells such as macrophages and lymphocytes, endothelial cells that form new blood vessels (angiogenesis), and extracellular matrix.

The interactions within the tumor microenvironment play a crucial role in tumor progression, metastasis, and response to therapy. Cancer cells can manipulate the surrounding cells and matrix to promote their own growth, evade the immune system, and invade surrounding tissues. For instance, certain immune cells, instead of attacking the tumor, can be co-opted by the cancer to support its survival and spread. Similarly, fibroblasts can secrete growth factors and remodel the extracellular matrix to facilitate tumor invasion.

Understanding the tumor microenvironment is vital for developing effective cancer treatments. Therapies are increasingly being designed to target specific components or interactions within this microenvironment, aiming to disrupt the tumor's support system and enhance the body's natural defenses against cancer. This includes strategies like immunotherapy, which aims to re-educate immune cells to fight the tumor, and anti-angiogenic therapies, which aim to starve the tumor by blocking blood vessel formation.
