Tulea

Tulea is a coastal city and administrative center of the Tulea Archipelago, located in the northern part of the nation of Lyria. The city sits at the head of a protected natural harbor and functions as the archipelago's primary economic and cultural hub.

The surrounding landscape blends rocky coves, terraced hills, and citrus groves. Tulea has a temperate maritime climate with mild winters and dry summers, supporting fishing, farming, and outdoor tourism.

Tulea was founded as a fishing village in the 12th century and grew as a trading port during regional spice commerce. It received municipal status in the 1850s and developed a modest industrial sector in the 20th century.

As of the latest census, Tulea hosts about 28,000 residents. The population is predominantly Tulean, with minority communities including mariners’ families and migrant workers. Languages spoken are Tulean and, in official settings, the national language.

The economy centers on the port and related services, commercial fishing, and tourism. Local industries include food processing, ship maintenance, and crafts. The annual harbor festival attracts visitors from across the archipelago.

Tulea preserves a historic core with narrow alleys, a maritime museum, and a lighthouse overlooking the harbor. The city hosts a maritime festival in summer and a weekly market showcasing local produce and crafts.

Governed by a mayor and a 12-member city council, Tulea maintains primary and secondary schools, a technical college, and a small university campus offering programs in marine sciences and logistics.
