Tuffringe
Tuffringe is a term that can refer to a few different things, primarily geological formations and a specific type of volcanic rock. In geology, a tuff ring is a low, circular or elliptical cone-shaped accumulation of fragmented volcanic material, known as tuff, that forms around a volcanic vent. These structures are typically formed during phreatomagmatic eruptions, where magma interacts explosively with groundwater or surface water. The rapid expansion of steam fragments the magma and surrounding rock into small pieces, which are then ejected and deposited around the vent. Tuff rings are generally characterized by their relatively low profile and steep inner walls.
The material that makes up a tuff ring is called tuff. Tuff is a type of rock
