Tuckmani is a fictional town in the central highlands of Eldoria, situated along the Lira River. It serves as a regional market town and is known for its historic market square and a small monastery with a library.

Etymology: The name is linked to local lore and is thought to derive from an Old Tuck term meaning shade and hill, though exact origin is uncertain.

Geography and climate: Located at roughly 650 meters above sea level, the town is ringed by terraced fields and pine forests. The climate is temperate, with warm summers and wet winters.

History: Tuckmani traces its origins to a 9th-century guild of weavers granted limited self-government in 1120. It prospered under regional trade routes but suffered during plague transmissions in the 14th century and again in the 17th. It remained a largely autonomous market town until later administrative consolidations.

Economy and culture: The economy centers on textiles, pottery, and daily markets. A Harvest Moon festival draws craftsmen, singers, and visitors. The town maintains a small monastery library and a school for scribes.
