Tubulointerstitiell
Tubulointerstitiell refers to the part of the kidney comprising the renal tubules and the interstitial tissue that surrounds them. The renal tubules are microscopic structures responsible for reabsorbing essential substances like water, glucose, and amino acids back into the bloodstream, and for secreting waste products into the urine. The interstitial tissue is the connective tissue that fills the spaces between these tubules and the glomeruli, providing structural support and housing blood vessels, lymphatic vessels, and inflammatory cells.
Diseases affecting this region are termed tubulointerstitial diseases. These conditions can arise from various causes, including
