TruetoSize is a term used in fashion retail and e-commerce to indicate that a garment's labeled size is expected to align with standard body measurements, and that the item runs true to size. It relies on reference size charts mapping sizes to measurements such as chest, waist, hip, and inseam.

In practice, truetosize signals that purchasing the usual size is likely to fit, but it is not a formal standard. The term emerged with the growth of online shopping, as retailers sought to communicate fit reliability to customers. It is used by many brands across clothing, footwear, and accessories, and may appear on product pages alongside size guides or return information.

Limitations include variation by brand, cut, fabric, and manufacturing, as well as different interpretations of what counts as true to size. Vanity sizing and regional differences in sizing can also affect fit. Because styles range from slim to relaxed fits and fabrics range from stretch to woven, a guarantee of truetosize cannot be universal.

Consumers should consult size charts and, when possible, reference customer feedback on specific items. Truetosize labels are intended to aid decision-making but do not substitute for careful measurement or trying on garments when feasible.
