Tropikud
Tropikud is a genus of plants in the family Fabaceae. The genus was described by botanist Ivan M. Johnston in 1938. Species within the Tropikud genus are native to South America, primarily found in the Amazon basin and surrounding regions. These plants are generally herbaceous perennials or small shrubs. They are characterized by their pinnately compound leaves and inflorescences typically bearing small, pea-like flowers. The fruits are usually legumes. Tropikud species are often found in disturbed habitats, such as along roadsides or in open clearings within forests. Their ecological role includes contributing to nitrogen fixation in the soil, a common characteristic of the Fabaceae family. Further research is ongoing to fully understand the diversity and distribution of Tropikud species, as well as their specific adaptations to their tropical environments.
