Trekkfaser

Trekkfaser is a term used to describe the sequence of stages that occurs when an object or material is subjected to a pulling force. The term is Scandinavian in origin, from trekk meaning pull or tension and fase meaning phase. It denotes a progression in deformation or response as load is increased.

In materials science, trekkfaser refers to the typical stages of deformation under tensile loading. The first stage is elastic deformation, where the material returns to its original shape if the load is removed. The second stage is plastic deformation, where permanent shape change occurs after surpassing the yield point.
