Tregulatory
Tregulatory, often abbreviated as Treg cells, are a specialized subset of T lymphocytes that play a critical role in maintaining immune tolerance. Their primary function is to suppress the activity of other immune cells, thereby preventing autoimmune diseases and excessive inflammation. Without functional Treg cells, the immune system might mistakenly attack the body's own tissues.
These cells are characterized by the expression of specific surface markers, most notably the transcription factor
The mechanisms by which Treg cells exert their suppressive effects are diverse and include direct cell-to-cell
Dysregulation of Treg cell function has been implicated in a wide range of diseases, including autoimmune disorders
