Transportsombid

Transportsombid is the public transportation network serving the metropolitan area of Sombid. It is coordinated by the Sombid Transportation Authority and operates buses, a light rail tram system, and a river ferry service, with a goal of providing safe, affordable, and accessible mobility.

The network was created in 2005 when the city unified several municipal operators under a single agency. It has since expanded with new tram lines and ferry routes, and introduced an integrated ticketing system that covers all modes.

As of the early 2020s, Transportsombid operates several bus routes, two tram lines in the central corridor, and a commuter ferry linking riverfront districts. The network uses common route numbering, synchronized timetables, and a unified fare. A transit app provides real-time departures, trip planning, and mobile ticketing.

The rolling stock includes low-emission buses and modern trams, with designated bus lanes and priority signals to improve travel times. Stations and ferry terminals are wheelchair-accessible.

The authority is funded by fares, government subsidies, and development charges. A transit council sets policy; operations are delivered by contracted partners under a performance framework. Transportsombid has committed to progressive electrification and modal shift to reduce emissions.
