3. Literal Transcription: This level is the most detailed and includes all the elements of phonetic transcription, as well as additional information such as speaker turns, overlapping speech, and non-verbal sounds. It is often used in the analysis of conversational data.

The choice of transcription level depends on the research question or application. For example, phonetic transcription is crucial for studying speech disorders, while orthographic transcription is sufficient for many types of linguistic analysis. Literal transcription is typically used when a detailed record of the interaction is needed, such as in the analysis of conversations or interviews.
