Traktor

Traktor is a family of digital DJ software products developed by Native Instruments. It is used for professional and hobbyist DJing and live performance, enabling users to load tracks from a digital library, cue and mix them, apply effects, and perform with multiple decks. The flagship product is Traktor Pro, supported by hardware controllers and a mobile app ecosystem.

Traktor Pro offers four decks, beat-grid based analysis, tempo syncing, and quantization. It includes hot cues, loops, and a Remix Deck feature for triggering sample sets. A built-in effects suite provides filters, delays, reverbs, and more. It supports timecode-based mixing through a digital vinyl system (DVS) with compatible hardware, allowing DJing from vinyl or CDs to control digital tracks.

It runs on Windows and macOS and integrates with Native Instruments hardware such as Kontrol S2/S4 controllers and the Z2 mixer, as well as third-party MIDI hardware. It also has companion mobile apps that extend library management and performance capabilities to mobile devices.

Since its inception in the early 2000s, Traktor has been a major force in digital DJing, widely used in clubs, festivals, and studios. It competes with Serato DJ and Rekordbox, and is known for its stability, deep feature set, and strong effects and performance options.
