The name is derived from the Toshiri language, commonly interpreted as "meeting place" or "confluence." The city sits on a broad river plain near the confluence of the Lune River and Lake Sira, with a temperate climate that supports extensive parks and riverside promenades. Toshir functions as the administrative and economic hub of Veridia's northern region, hosting the regional council, several universities, and a diversified economy that includes manufacturing, logistics, information technology, and cultural services.
