The term is not widely standardized and appears mostly in discussions of knowledge graphs, recommendation systems, and semantic search. In this context, the torelateds of an item are the nodes that an algorithm or curator considers related via defined criteria.

Characteristics include directionality (outgoing links rather than undirected connections), context-dependence (relatedness can vary by domain or dataset), and edge labeling (the relation type may be "related," "similar," "associated," or other descriptors). Torelateds can be used to compute context expansions, suggest alternatives, or propagate signals such as relevance, popularity, or authority across a graph.

Examples: In a music streaming graph, the torelateds of a track include other tracks that listeners who played this track also played; in an academic citation or topic graph, they might be papers with overlapping topics or frequent co-citation.
