Tonqualität refers to the fidelity and overall sonic characteristics of an audio recording or reproduction. It encompasses various aspects that contribute to how accurately and pleasingly sound is perceived by a listener. Key elements influencing tonqualität include frequency response, dynamic range, distortion, signal-to-noise ratio, and stereo imaging.

Frequency response describes the range of audible frequencies that a system can reproduce and how evenly it reproduces them. A balanced frequency response ensures that low bass, mid-range, and high treble sounds are all present and proportionally represented, leading to a natural and lifelike sound. Dynamic range pertains to the difference between the loudest and quietest sounds a system can reproduce.
