Tonarms refers to the tonearm, a crucial component of a record player or turntable. Its primary function is to hold the cartridge and stylus in place as they track the groove of a vinyl record. The tonearm's design and construction significantly influence the sound quality of the playback.

Tonearms come in various types, including straight and tonearms, each with its own set of advantages and disadvantages. Straight tonearms are generally simpler and can be less prone to resonance, while tonearms can offer better tracking and reduce stylus wear.
