Toisiolähetteiden

Toisiolähetteiden, meaning "secondary transmissions" or "secondary emissions" in Finnish, refers to electromagnetic radiation that is re-emitted or scattered by an object after it has been exposed to an initial electromagnetic field or wave. This phenomenon is distinct from direct transmission, where the original signal propagates through space.

When an object encounters an electromagnetic wave, its electrons can be excited, causing them to oscillate. These oscillating electrons then radiate their own electromagnetic waves. The characteristics of these toisiolähetteiden, such as frequency, amplitude, and direction, depend on the properties of the incident wave and the material of the object. This can include both elastic scattering, where the re-emitted wave has the same frequency as the incident wave (like Rayleigh scattering), and inelastic scattering, where there is a change in frequency (like Raman scattering).
