Tjébl

Tjébl is a uninhabited lagoon island in the municipality of Raseborg, Finland. The island is located in the outer archipelago of the Baltic Sea.

The island has a total area of approximately 0.38 square kilometers and a shoreline of around 3.8 kilometers. The island is roughly spherical in shape, with a few small hills rising above the general level of the surface. The terrain is mostly composed of rock and stone, with some areas of sandy soil.

Tjébl's geology is primarily characterized by Precambrian granite and gneiss. The island's surrounding waters are relatively deep, with a depth of around 10-20 meters.

The lagoon surrounding Tjébl is an important migration route for various bird species, including the Saimaa seal. The island is also home to a number of plant species, including beach grass and species of Juniperus and Betula.

Tjébl has seen human activity in the past, with archaeological finds indicating that the island has been inhabited since prehistoric times. Modern impact on the island is minimal, largely due to its lack of accessibility and relatively remote location.

The Finnish National Board of Antiquities lists Tjébl as a recognized historical environment and place of cultural heritage. Efforts to protect this sensitive environment ensure the conservation of natural features and historical sites on the island.
