TitleHeader

TitleHeader is a term used in document processing and templating to refer to the header element that displays a document's or section's title. It is not a formal standard; implementations vary across systems but share a common purpose: present a prominent, recognizable title and provide a semantic heading for navigation and accessibility.

In practice, a TitleHeader is parameterized: it includes the title text and may carry metadata such as a heading level, a CSS class or style, an identifier for linking, and optional numbering. It can be rendered differently depending on the target format: in HTML it may map to h1 through h6, in LaTeX to \\section, in Markdown to a leading hash, etc.

Usage: Content management templates and static site generators often use a TitleHeader or a configurable equivalent to ensure consistent document structure. It supports accessibility by assigning proper ARIA roles and anchor IDs for linking.

Examples of related concepts include document headers, section headings, and title blocks. The term is sometimes used interchangeably with Heading or Title element within templating languages.
