Titellijst

Titellijst is a Dutch term that literally means a list of titles. In library, archival, and media contexts it denotes a systematic enumeration of the titles associated with a work, a collection, or a project. A titellijst can serve as a navigational aid within a larger document or as a stand-alone catalog entry, and it is commonly used to present the titles of items such as books, articles, poems, songs, film episodes, or other media items. It is distinct from a table of contents (inhoudsopgave) and from a full bibliographic record: the titellijst focuses specifically on the titles themselves, often with minimal accompanying metadata.

In practice, a titellijst may be found in bibliographies, catalogs, collections inventories, archives, or media catalogs. It typically lists each title with associated metadata such as author or creator, year of release or publication, format or medium, language, and sometimes a short note or alternative titles. The list may be organized alphabetically, by chronological order, or by series and collection structure. In digital catalogs, titellijsten are implemented as structured data fields that enable search and faceted navigation.
