Tiruththondar

Tiruththondar, also known as Tiruththondar Puranam or Periya Puranam, is a hagiographical work of Tamil literature. It was composed by Sekkizhar in the 12th century CE during the reign of the Chola king Anukampa Deva. The text recounts the lives of the sixty-three Nayanars, the devoted saints of Lord Shiva.

The Periya Puranam is structured as a long narrative poem, detailing the spiritual journeys, acts of devotion, and lives of these Nayanars. Each chapter focuses on a specific saint, elaborating on their background, their encounters with Shiva, and the miracles or significant events associated with them.
