Tiedetään

Tiedetään is a Finnish verb form meaning "it is known." It is the present passive form of tietää (to know). In Finnish, tiedetään is used to present information regarded as established, without naming the agent who knows it. The construction is common in formal writing, journalism, and scientific contexts.

Usage: It often introduces statements about facts, findings, or conclusions supported by evidence. Examples: "Tiedetään, että liikunta parantaa terveyttä." ("It is known that physical exercise improves health.") "Tiedetään, että ilmastonmuutos vaikuttaa sään äärimmäisiin ilmiöihin." ("It is known that climate change affects extreme weather events.")
