Thornaxs

Thornaxs are a fictional species native to the planet Xylos in the Andromeda galaxy. They are known for their tough, chitinous exoskeletons that vary in color from deep emerald to rusty brown, providing them with natural camouflage within their dense forest environment. Thornaxs possess four limbs, two of which are powerful, clawed appendages used for locomotion and defense, and the other two are more slender, dexterous arms ending in three-fingered hands. Their heads are characterized by multifaceted eyes that offer a wide field of vision and a pair of sensitive antennae that detect atmospheric changes and vibrations.

The Thornax diet consists primarily of Xylosian flora, particularly the nutrient-rich sap of the giant Lumina trees. They are social creatures, living in communal burrows excavated beneath the roots of these trees. Their society is structured around a matriarchal system, with elder females leading their respective colonies. Communication among Thornaxs is believed to involve a complex series of clicks, hisses, and pheromonal signals. While generally peaceful herbivores, Thornaxs can become fiercely territorial when threatened, utilizing their sharp claws and a natural venom secreted from glands near their mandibles as a last resort. Their reproductive cycle is tied to the planet's biannual solar flares, during which they engage in elaborate mating rituals.
