The handling of thallium-based materials requires extreme caution due to the element's inherent toxicity. Exposure can occur through inhalation, ingestion, or skin absorption, and symptoms can range from hair loss and gastrointestinal distress to severe neurological damage and death. Consequently, any use of thallium-based compounds necessitates stringent safety protocols and protective measures.
