Their purpose is to help users and technicians assess and adjust various aspects of picture quality.

Common elements found in testiliuskat include color bars, grayscale ramps, and resolution patterns. Color bars, like those from the SMPTE or EBU standards, are used to verify color accuracy, saturation, and luminance. Grayscale ramps allow for the evaluation of contrast, black levels, and the smooth transition between different shades of gray. Resolution patterns, often featuring fine lines or checkerboard designs, help determine the sharpness and detail reproduction capabilities of the display.

The use of testiliuskat is a standard practice in professional video and calibration settings.
