Tervikuna

Tervikuna is a fictional coastal town and the seat of the eponymous municipality in the fictional Nordhavn region. It is situated on a protected harbour facing the North Sea and is surrounded by pine forests and low, rocky hills. The population is approximately 3,800 residents, with a density typical for small Nordic towns. The local economy combines fishing, aquaculture, and small-scale manufacturing with growing tourism.

History: The settlement date is uncertain, but evidence suggests activity in the 14th century, with a documented harbour from the 16th century. It expanded in the 18th and 19th centuries as timber and shipbuilding industries grew. A modernization program in the mid-20th century added paved roads, a school, and a clinic, and the harbor was upgraded to support passenger ferries and freight traffic.

Geography and infrastructure: The town sits on a natural harbour protected by a ring of breakwaters. It is connected by a single highway to larger towns and by a ferry service to nearby islands. Public services include an upper secondary school, a municipal library, a health clinic, and a small cultural center.

Culture and landmarks: Tervikuna preserves a maritime cultural heritage, including a lighthouse dating from the 19th century and a traditional fish market. An annual midsummer festival features local folk music, crafts, and regional cuisine such as smoked herring and rye bread.
