Terschelling

Terschelling is the second largest of the West Frisian Islands in the Netherlands, located in the province of Friesland. It is situated between the islands of Vlieland and Ameland. The island has a length of approximately 30 kilometers and a width that varies. Its landscape is characterized by vast beaches, dunes, forests, and polders.

The main population center on Terschelling is the village of West-Terschelling, which also houses the main harbor and is the administrative center. The island is accessible by ferry from the mainland port of Harlingen. The Brandaris lighthouse, located in West-Terschelling, is one of the oldest lighthouses in the Netherlands and a prominent landmark. The island's natural reserves, such as the Westerduinen and the Boschplaat, are important habitats for various bird species.
