Teremtéselméletben refers to the concept of creationism within a theoretical framework. It encompasses a range of beliefs that posit the universe and life originated from a divine or supernatural act. This contrasts with evolutionary theories that explain the diversity of life through natural processes like natural selection. Creationist viewpoints often draw from religious texts, interpreting them as literal accounts of creation.

Different forms of creationism exist. Young Earth creationism, for example, holds that the Earth and universe are only a few thousand years old, based on a literal interpretation of biblical genealogies. Old Earth creationism, on the other hand, accepts the scientific consensus on the age of the Earth but still attributes its formation and the development of life to a creator. Theistic evolution is another perspective, which views evolutionary processes as the mechanism by which a creator brought about life.

The scientific community generally does not consider creationism to be a scientific theory, as it relies on supernatural explanations that are not empirically testable or falsifiable. Scientific explanations for the origin and development of life are based on evidence from fields such as geology, paleontology, genetics, and cosmology. Debates surrounding creationism often involve discussions about the nature of science, faith, and the interpretation of evidence.
