Tenzorokranian

Tenzorokranian is a constructed language created for a fictional civilization in the Tenzorokran universe. Designed to be naturalistic, it features a complete phonology, grammar, and writing system for use in world-building, literature, and media. In-world, the language is described as agglutinative with a predominantly SOV (subject–object–verb) order and a rich verbal morphology.

Phonology: The sound system comprises five vowels (a, e, i, o, u) and a consonant inventory that includes stops, fricatives, nasals, and a small set of ejectives (p’, t’, k’). Syllables are typically CV or CVC, and stress is usually on the penultimate syllable. The language allows consonant clusters at syllable boundaries but limits complex clusters in onset positions.

Grammar: Tenzorokranian marks nouns for number and case, with postpositions forming the case relation rather than prepositions. Adjectives follow nouns. Verbs encode aspect and mood, with evidential markers indicating the source of information. Questions are formed with a particle and, in some registers, with a rising intonation; negation is expressed by a dedicated negative particle before the verb.

Writing system: The script is a syllabary-like writing system in which most signs represent CV syllables, accompanied by diacritics for length or tonal distinctions. Spelling is largely phonemic, though morphophonemic alternations can cause occasional irregularities.

Usage and status: In its fictional setting, Tenzorokranian appears in literature, film, and games, and is studied by fans and linguists. Learner resources, dictionaries, and community-driven grammars circulate online, supporting discussions of syntax, morphology, and vocabulary.
