Tematów

Tematów to genitive plural form of the Polish noun temat, meaning topics or subjects. In Polish grammar temat is a masculine noun; its nominative plural is tematy, while tematóW is the genitive plural used in phrases that denote possession, specification, or categorization. The form tematów appears in constructions such as lista tematów (a list of topics), zbiór tematów (a collection of topics) or omówienie tematów (discussion of topics).

Etymology and sense

Temat traces its roots to the Greek thema, meaning “that which is laid down” or “proposal for discussion,” and entered Polish via historical language contact routes, later acquiring the modern sense of subject matter or matter of discussion.
