Televizor

A televizor, or television set, is a consumer electronic device designed to receive broadcast signals and display moving pictures with accompanying audio. In many languages the term refers to the television receiver as a complete appliance, with variations such as televizor, televisor, телевізор, telewizor, or televizor used in different regions.

The concept emerged from early experiments with electronic television in the early 20th century and became widespread after World War II. Initial sets used cathode ray tubes (CRTs) for display and analog broadcast standards. Over the decades, television technology evolved through color transmission, improvements in picture quality, and the development of digital broadcasting. The shift from analog to digital signals in many countries during the late 20th and early 21st centuries enabled higher resolution, multiple channels, and new features.

Modern televizors encompass a range of technologies and form factors. CRT-based models were largely replaced by flat-panel displays using LCD, LED, plasma, and, more recently, OLED or QLED panels. Common trends include high-definition and ultra-high-definition resolutions, wide color gamuts, and smart functionality that provides streaming apps, web browsing, and network connectivity. Contemporary sets integrate tuners for digital terrestrial, satellite, and streaming services, as well as interfaces such as HDMI, USB, and wireless standards.

Today, the televizor remains a central hub of home entertainment, combining video, audio, and smart features in a single appliance suitable for various room sizes and viewing habits.
