Telegráfiá, also known as telegraphy, is a method of long-distance communication that uses electrical signals to transmit messages over a wire. It was one of the first technologies to enable instantaneous communication over long distances, revolutionizing global communication in the 19th century. The telegraph system consists of a network of telegraph stations connected by wires, with operators using Morse code to send and receive messages.

The invention of the telegraph is attributed to Samuel Morse and Alfred Vail, who developed the Morse code in 1837. The first successful telegraph line was laid between Baltimore and Washington, D.C., in 1844. Over the following decades, telegraph networks expanded rapidly, connecting major cities and countries. By the late 19th century, telegraphy had become a vital tool for governments, businesses, and individuals, enabling the rapid dissemination of news, commerce, and diplomacy.
