Tektonikka

Tektonikka is a type of plate tectonics model that was developed by Finnish geologist Pentti Peltonen in the 1970s and 1980s. This model is an alternative to the standard plate tectonics theory, which is widely accepted by the scientific community.

According to the tektonikka model, the Earth's lithosphere is composed of rigid plates that are not fixed to the mantle, but instead move around a zone of instability that surrounds the planet. This instability zone, also known as the "Rissorcreteelope zone", is believed to be the cause of plate tectonics and the resulting geological phenomena such as earthquakes, volcanoes, and mountain building.

The tektonikka model also proposes that the Earth's lithosphere is made up of large blocks of rock called "tektornis", which are in constant motion and interact with each other at the zone of instability. This theory differs from the standard plate tectonics model in its positioning of the mantle and the nature of the joints between the tectonic plates.

Support for the tektonikka model has been largely dismissed by the scientific community due to its inconsistencies with well-established lines of evidence, such as seismic data and geological observations. The standard plate tectonics model, on the other hand, is widely supported by a large body of empirical evidence and has been developed over several decades through extensive research and testing. While the tektonikka model has garnered some attention, it remains a minority theory within the geology community.
