Teilsatzes
Teilsatz (plural Teilsätze) is a term in German grammar used to describe a clause that forms a functional unit within a larger sentence and cannot normally stand alone as a complete sentence. Teilsätze serve as building blocks in Satzgefüge, complex sentences that combine several clauses. In standard terminology, a Teilsatz is a constituent of the larger sentence; when a sentence contains at least two Teilsätze, it is called a Satzgefüge.
