Techników

Techników refers to a vocational education track in Poland that prepares students for specific technical professions. These programs typically last for a set number of years, often four, after completing lower secondary education. The curriculum combines general academic subjects with intensive practical training and theoretical knowledge in a chosen technical field.

Graduates of technikum programs are awarded a diploma and a technician's certificate, qualifying them for direct entry into the workforce. They are trained to perform skilled labor, operate machinery, conduct technical diagnostics, and implement technological processes. Common specializations include electrical engineering, automotive mechanics, IT, construction, and mechatronics, among others.

In addition to vocational training, technikum students also have the opportunity to take a matura exam, the Polish matriculation examination. Passing the matura exam allows them to pursue higher education at universities or technical colleges, providing a pathway for further academic and professional development. This dual focus on practical skills and academic potential makes technikum education a versatile option for many Polish students.
