Tatiller

Tatiller is Turkish for holidays or vacations; it is the plural form of tatil and is commonly used to refer to time off from work or school, the holiday periods themselves, or holiday destinations.

Tatiller can be classified into several categories. Resmi tatiller (official public holidays) are days recognized by the state during which many institutions close and employees may have time off. Dini tatiller (religious holidays) such as Ramazan Bayramı and Kurban Bayramı are often observed with special customs and may involve extended time off; their dates follow the lunar calendar and shift each year. Okul tatilleri (school holidays) include periods when schools are closed, such as yaz tatili (summer vacation), kış tatili (winter break), and various spring or mid-term breaks; these periods also influence work schedules and travel plans.
