Tasapainotaulut

Tasapainotaulut, also known as balance scales, are instruments used to measure the weight of objects. They consist of a beam balanced on a central pivot, with two pans hanging from either side of the beam. The pans are used to hold the objects being weighed, and the beam will balance when the weights on either side are equal. This allows for the accurate measurement of the weight of an object by comparing it to known standard weights.

The history of balance scales dates back to ancient times, with early examples found in ancient Egypt and Greece. Over time, various designs and improvements were made, including the addition of weights to one pan to offset the weight of the object being measured.
