Tappara

Tappara is a professional ice hockey team based in Tampere, Finland. The club was founded in 1939 and has since become one of the most successful and popular hockey teams in the country. Tappara competes in the Liiga, the top tier of Finnish ice hockey, and has won the Finnish Championship a record 18 times, most recently in the 2021-2022 season. The team plays its home games at the Nokia Arena, which has a seating capacity of over 15,000 spectators. Tappara's colors are blue and white, and the team's mascot is a blue bear named Tappara. The club is known for its strong youth development program, which has produced many talented players who have gone on to play in the National Hockey League (NHL) and other top leagues around the world. Tappara's most famous player is Jari Kurri, a two-time Stanley Cup champion who spent most of his NHL career with the Edmonton Oilers.
