Tantalumoxidból refers to compounds containing tantalum oxide. Tantalum, a chemical element with symbol Ta and atomic number 73, is a dense, silvery-gray, ductile transition metal. It is known for its extreme resistance to corrosion, even at high temperatures.

The most common tantalum oxide is tantalum pentoxide, with the chemical formula Ta₂O₅. This compound is a white, insoluble solid. Tantalum pentoxide has a very high melting point and is an excellent electrical insulator. It is used in the production of capacitors, particularly in electronic devices, due to its high dielectric constant. These capacitors are valued for their small size and high capacitance.

These compounds are generally refractory materials, meaning they can withstand very high temperatures without deforming.
