Taiti
Taiti, also known as Tahiti, is the largest island in the Windward group of French Polynesia, an overseas collectivity of France. It is located in the South Pacific Ocean. The island is of volcanic origin and has a mountainous interior, with Mount Orohena being its highest peak. The capital and largest city of French Polynesia, Papeete, is situated on Taiti.
The island is divided into two parts: Taiti Nui, the larger, western part, and Taiti Iti, the
French is the official language, but Tahitian is also widely spoken. The island has a tropical climate,
